WASHINGTON — For the first time in its storied — some say cursed — history, the cover of EA Sports’ “Madden NFL” video game will feature two cover athletes: Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald.
“Being on the cover of ‘Madden’ is a real honor,” Fitzgerald said Friday after Electronic Arts made the announcement. “And sharing it with a talent like Troy is really special.”
The shared cover of “Madden NFL 10,” which arrives in stores Aug. 14, has something for everyone: Polamalu is a defensive AFC player and Fitzgerald an offensive NFC player.
EA Sports senior product manager Anthony Stevenson called the two Pro Bowlers “exemplary examples of the epic battle between offense and defense in the NFL.”

Here is a quick run down of our top games this month….
SPORE (Multi) – Spore is a simulator from the makers of the SIMs and SimCity series. This time around players can control all of everything ever from the beginning of time. Create creatures and worlds and watch them evolve and interact. – Sept. 7

Rock Band 2 (XBOX 360) – We’re not worthy… The sequel to the smash hit Rock Band. This latest version features updated pretty much everything, from instruments to interface an a ton of new songs. Expect this one to sell out fast. – Sept. 14th

Brothers in Arms (Multi) – Continuing in the BIA saga, expect this first person shooter to be a thrill rider from start to finish. – Sept. 22

Lego Batman (Multi) – Cross your favorite caped crusader with your favorite childhood toy, wrap it in a 3D simulated world and here you are. I’m attually quite look forward to this one. – Sept. 22

Sony Release the 3rd version of there handheld gaming system this week. The PSP-3000, which is slated to hit US shelves October 14. Compared to the PSP-2000, the new 3000 model has twice the color gamut, five times the contrast ratio and, what we’re most excited about, a response time that’s twice as fast. Additionally the unit also features a new built-in mic and a non-glare screen. Rumor has it that the mic is evidence that Sony might entering the Cellphone market with a cellular version of the PSP running VOiP software similar to Skype.
The unit will retail for 199.99 and will come in two package choices, a Core Pack which will include the Updated black system, a 4GB memory Stick and a Playstation Network Voucher. The second Package will feature a white system, 1GB memory stick, National Treasure 2 UMD, Ratchet and Clank and a Playstation Network Voucher.
