People.com reports that the long time hollywood coupling of Cowboys QB Tony Romo and recording artist Jessica Simpson may have come to an end.

Here’s what people reports:

Tony Romo broke up with Jessica Simpson on Thursday, the night before her 29th birthday, a source close to the pop star tells PEOPLE.

“She is heartbroken,” says the source. “She loves Tony. But it’s been difficult lately. He’s busy with his career and she’s getting ready to shoot her show (The Price of Beauty). They decided to part ways.”

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback fueled breakup rumors when he showed up with about 14 friends at the Hollywood hotspot MyHouse on Friday night without the birthday girl, a source tells PEOPLE.

“He had quite a few girls stop by his dance floor table,” says an onlooker. “Romo was sipping Grey Goose and having a fun time with the boys.”

Simpson’s rep had no comment. Romo’s rep could not be reached for comment.

Simpson had planned to throw a Barbie and Ken-themed party for her birthday, but it fell through, according to a message she wrote on her Twitter page Saturday. “Barbie party didn’t happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!” she wrote.

On Saturday night, Romo spoke to a group of well-heeled sports memorabilia collectors at the Los Angeles Sports Museum of Los Angeles. He “blushed” when a woman asked about his relationship with Jessica Simpson, according to the L.A. Daily News.

The source close to Simpson is sad that the longtime couple broke up. “They were good together for along time,” says the source. “But I guess it wasn’t meant to be.”

Although Simpson’s heart might be broken, she seems to remain hopeful about love. On Sunday, she Tweeted, “Everyone needs to know that hope floats … grab the strings and pull it back to you.” Three hours later, she wrote, “Falling asleep with my mom and the dogs. Please lord give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace.”

Wow and we actually were really starting to like these two as a couple…oh well.

UFC 100 had an action packed, rivalry filled match ups for our viewing entertainment, last night at the Mandalay Bay

 Brock Lesner v. Frank Mir

Wrestler vs. Martial Artist

Brock Lesner, 31, 265 lbs. with an 81 inch reach, is the type of guy who can get u into a certain position on the ground and lay a punishment down. We’ve literally seen him beat someone like a drum. The former NCAA Div 1 All American wrestler, Lesner called his match up against Frank Mir, “The Revenge Fight…” This reigning Heavy Weight Champion of the world and Former WWE superstar had a score to settle.

After their last meeting, Lesner believed Mirs stole the match from him. In their first fight, Lesner was dominating, but the referee stopped the fight because of alleged inappropriate blows to the back of the head by Brock. Mirs, given the opportunity to recover, put Lesner in a knee bar, and Lesner ended up tapping out.

Now as reigning champ, Brock felt that in order to be a true UFC champion, he must beat the man who beat him.

Frank Mir, 30, 245 lbs. with a 79 inch reach, the interim champ wanted to solidify his status as a legitimate threat. A black belt in Ju-jitsu, most of Mir’s fights end in the first round. The self proclaimed underdog, said that he has more heart than Lesner, and is eager to establish himself as the true champion.

Most believed that Lesner would prevail over Mir.

Brockk came out early with his wrestling skills, and locked Mir in a neck crank and then began a series of hard blows, punishing the side of Mir’s face.

The second round was worse for Mir, as Brock pinned him down and began to bombard Mir with 15 right hooks against the fence. It was all over for Frank Mir.

Cocky to the end, both fighters continued to exchange words as Brock’s legacy was confirmed.

In the post-fight interview, Lesnar encouraged the booing fans to “keep going” before continuing to taunt Mir.

No one and nothing was spared. Lesnar even turned his attention to the UFC itself, which paid him an estimated $3 million for the fight, pointing at the giant Bud Light advertisement in the middle of the octagon.

“I’m drinking a cooler full of Coors Light, Coors Light because Bud Light won’t pay me anything.”

Anything for the children at home, big guy?

“Hell, I might even get on top of my wife tonight.”

Mir, humbled himself, and acknowledged his mistakes.

 As a means to notoriety, Hoover hit on the idea of exploiting the outlaw’s capture as a way to elevate his Bureau of Investigation into the national police force that became the FBI. He made Dillinger America’s first Public Enemy Number One and sent in Purvis, the dashing “Clark Gable of the FBI.”

 However, Dillinger and his gang outwitted and outgunned Purvis’ men in wild chases and shootouts. Only after importing a crew of lawmen from the Dallas bureau and orchestrating epic betrayals—from the infamous “Lady in Red” to the Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti—were Purvis, the FBI and their new crew of gunfighters able to close in on Dillinger.

A $25,000, solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated, custom casket has been ordered for Michael Jackson. The casket — ordered last night from Batesville Casket Company — is called a Promethean and will feature a flame blue velvet interior and a hand-polished, mirror finish.

This is the same casket used to bury James Brown.. and is extremely rare.

On Tuesday, July 7th a motorcade will go from Forest Lawn Mortuary in L.A. to the Staples Center complex in downtown Los Angeles where the public memorial will be held.

Well it really  hurts us to say this especially with half of the year remaining  but the worst video of the year goes to (drum roll please) DRAKE? Yes  its sad but true the rising rap/r&b artist comes in as the worst video of this year. Drake’s 1st video for hit song “Best I Ever Had” produced by Kanye West was way off.

Now we love Drake and feel he may be the future of hip hop and we love Kanye but this video was HORRIBLE! We expected FIRE when a artist like Drake and Kanye team up and were sadly let down. 1st the video doesnt match the song. Granted Drake is more of a hip hop artist but this song seemed a bit more intimate than what the video portrayed. The video starts out with several well endowed women bouncing up and down on a basketball court and then its all down hill from there. The setting of the whole video takes place on a basketball court and has Drake as  the coach of his “Team Drake” b-ball team all wearing booty shorts and tight extremely revealing tank tops (most of which men won’t mind).  You know what I can’t describe this anymore  you just have to see it for yourself (Watch video below). Comment and let us know if we’re off base by saying that this video is bad in the comment section below.

Again before watching, we are big Drake and Kanye West fans and feel that these 2 can very well be among the industry’s elite artists, but this video just didn’t do it for us. We’ll be looking to get them in for a interview to see if we were missing the concept.

Vibe, one of the nation’s leading popular music magazines, is closing immediately, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Word was broken early this afternoon by the Web site dailyfinance.com and spread to other music and media news sites. The spokeswoman, Tracy Nguyen, said the Vibe staff would be formally notified in a meeting at 2 p.m. She said she did not know how many people would be laid off as a result of the closure.

The closure of Vibe leaves just two large-circulation music magazines, XXL and The Source, focusing on hip-hop and R&B. The Source has had its own troubles, going through a bankruptcy and emerging under new ownership last year. A rock-focused magazine, Blender, folded last year.

New York Post reports that EARLY salary figures from Simon Cowell’s “American Idol” contract negotiations are leaking out and they’re eye-popping.

Cowell, who reportedly made $36 million last year for judging the hit competition show, has been offered three or four times that amount — between $100 million and $144 million per year — by co-producers Fox and 19 Entertainment to stick with “Idol” when his contract expires next May, according to The Guardian, a London newpaper.

Fox declined yesterday to comment about the salary negotiations.

While $36 million may seem like a lot of money for five months worth of snarky comments and eye-rolls, it’s only a fraction of the estimated $900 million that “Idol” rakes in a year. As the lynchpin of the show — without him there would be no one to hate and no dramatic tension with Paula Abdul — Cowell believes he’s due for a raise.

To get more of the pie, he’s been leaning on long-time friend and UK retail multibillionaire Sir Philip Green — who owns hot fashion franchise Top Shop — for help negotiating the terms of what would be a new “Idol” contract, reports say. Green is said to be lobbying hard for an increase in Cowell’s appearance fee on the show.

A Pop Icon’s Death: The Talent and the Tragedy

The tragedy of Michael Jackson’s death at age 50, reportedly from cardiac arrest, pales in comparison to the tragedy of his life. To understand all that Jackson had and lost requires wiping away three decades of plastic surgeries that deformed him, erratic behavior that made his name synonymous with the warping powers of fame, and a 2005 trial for sexually abusing a child that, even though he was spared of any finding of wrongdoing, made him a pariah to all but the most brainwashed of fans. But if you can forgive or forget all that, underneath was one of the most talented entertainers of the 20th century. Quincy Jones, who produced Jackson’s quintessential solo albums, was devastated by the news of his passing. “I’ve lost my little brother today,” Jones said in a statement. “Part of my soul has gone with him.” Added Jones: “Divinity brought our souls together … and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout the ’80s. The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron’s dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives him using his own spark. Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with then meets the eye.

Two years after the harrowing events of the first Decepticon attack on Earth, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) attempts to lead the normal life of a college student. But contending with overbearing parents, conspiracy-obsessed roommates, and a long distance relationship with his girlfriend Mikaela, (Megan Fox) gives way to fending off lethally aggressive girls, alien symbol-induced mental breakdowns, and once again saving the world from transforming robots intent on destroying the universe.

If you’re an 80s baby and a fan of Transformers, you will over look some of the boring faults, and focus on the nearly indescribable amount of mayhem exploding across the screen. While the CG effects have virtually perfected giant robots destroying everything in sight, the story department seems to have digressed into conjuring up outlandish situations that require even more preposterous solutions. There are some super sweaty sex scenes that were slightly rated R, which makes you feel bad for the family with the five kids under 10.

It’s a summer blockbuster, so of course you’re going to see it.

Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press.

Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital according to sources.

Brian Oxman, a Jackson family attorney, said he was told by brother Randy Jackson that Michael Jackson collapsed at his home in west Los Angeles Thursday morning.

Family members were told of the situation and were either at the hospital or en route, Oxman said.

Fire Capt. Steve Ruda told CNN a 911 call came in from a west Los Angeles residence at 12:21 p.m.

Ruda said Jackson was treated and transferred to the UCLA Medical Center.

Asked specifics of the patient’s condition, he said he could not discuss them because of federal privacy laws.

The music icon from Gary, Indiana, is known as the “King of Pop.”

Jackson is the seventh of nine children in a well-known musical family.

At the medical center, every entrance to the emergency room was blocked by security guards. Even hospital staffers were not permitted to enter. A few people stood inside the waiting area, some of them crying.

Ed McMahon has died at age 86. His agent Howard Bragman told an NBC affiliate he died shortly after midnight in California…

*UPDATE*:Chris Brown has copped a plea in his assault case. He won’t do jail time, but he will spend 6 months doing things like road cleanup. He’s also been ordered to stay 50 yards clear of Rihanna.

He’ll spend 180 days doing hard labor in Virginia which is where Brown lives – it’s equivalent to Caltrans or graffiti cleanup.

He gets 5 years probation for FELONY assault — he pled guilty. He’ll get supervised probation. He’ll have to come back to court every three months.

He must enroll in a domestic violence counseling program.

The judge said she wanted to make sure that Chris Brown “was treated as any other person who comes through this court.”

If Brown violates probation, he could get up to 4 years in prison.

Rihanna is in the courthouse but never entered the courtroom.

UPDATE: Brown is in the courtroom. His head is down and he looks rather upset. His mom is in court, along with other family members. There is reserved family seating.

Chris Brown just walked into the court in downtown Los Angeles, through a sea of media and law enforcement.

Officially, his preliminary hearing is set to begin at 1:30 PT and Rihanna is supposed to testify. But Brown’s lawyer was in chambers this AM with the prosecutor and the judge. We’re hearing they may announce a deal when the case is called.

He says the fight stemmed from his harsh posting about Fergie.

But cops in Toronto tell us it was the general manager of the Black Eyed Peas — Polo Molina — who is under investigation and he turned himself in to police early this morning.

Beginning just after midnight West Coast time, Perez Hilton tweeted a series of messages alleging that Will.I.Am and his security guards had assaulted him.

Hilton was in Toronto Sunday for the Much Music Awards:

– I’m in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please.
– I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.

– I spoke to my lawyer. I really need to talk to the authorities. Please come to the SoHo Met Hotel. Have called the police. Need them here.

The last message he posted on Twitter before this series of tweets came about two hours earlier: “Is there a gay bar that we can go to with GaGa now that like has a balcony or some place to have fun but be safe?”
